debut contemporary - workshop with Paul Barthaud

Those are some good looking DEBUT Artists!
Tuesday 29th March’s Workshop led by successful Auctioneer, Art Handler and specialist Cataloguer, Paul Barthaud (www.paulbarthaud.co.uk), demonstrated that all artists should be prepared, at least with an understanding of the runnings, for Auction Houses at an early stage. Barthaud also stressed the importance of what he described as the “nuclear option” – having a clear voice as an artist and a control over the price, placement and integrity of one’s artworks.

Some key market trends were noted as to the boom in art sales in particular countries in the last decade and following Jean-Phillippe Vernes talk, the value in remaining respectful to your collectors whilst maintaining a strategic business mind is clearly of high importance.
